Welsh Stick Chairs Book

I believe this book, which was written by John Brown, has been difficult to find at a low price. So if you've been looking for it, the latest edition is now available for $20 at Country Workshops.

Glad to see it's back in print at long last.

I bought this book in 1990 when it was published by Abcastle in Pembrokeshire.

John Brown signed it for me and it's the finest book on John Brown there is; it's his own book on what made him tick and in the process he gives his view on Welshness, (if there is such a thing for about us people who are from that part of the world), Welsh history, living in Wales in those days and how to make the peculiar type of chair you find there.

It's the last part that people find most interesting these days, but he was a credit to real woodworking, using his hands without the use of power and turnig out really fine chairs.

It’s recommended without reservation to anyone interested in vernacular furniture.

Best wishes …

Howard
