Awesome! Thanks for putting that up Kari! I was eating lunch heard all the racket but it didn't dawn on me what was going on or I would have run over to see it.
I love it. This just convinces me more that one year I am going to have to coonvince SWMBO that a trip to WIA is really a holiday that we can take fro Australia.
There was one attendee whose nametag said he was from South Africa. Didn't get to talk to him, so I don't know whether he was up here already, but there's your precedent.
No videos of the Boring Championship yet, but here's the first post about it over at PopWood.
Gotta say I really thought Peter was going to win. I was kind of surprised when Mike took it. It was a fun day watching all of the Olympics go down. It was nice to see a lot of families and kids getting in on the action too. Hopefully it will be close enough to the area for me to help out again next year.
It was a really fun competition that drew quite a large crowd. I hope there are more like that at the next conference—people seemed to really enjoy it.
Peter, good one! Is that in iTunes? heh.
Tom, I hope they just post the video with Megan and Heather. I do not want to relive what was a panic-filled moment for me.
Bob!! I'm so sorry I didn't get to meet you. I didn't know you were working the booth. Did you see me there? There was a guy who I thought I recognized but wasn't sure. Was that you???
Could have been me. Short, stocky balding guy wearing an apron. I saw you past there a few times but it always seemed I was busy working with someone or timing someone every time you came around so I didn't get a chance to meet you. I was only there on Saturday.
Bob, I just watched the Woodworking Mag video. That WAS you I saw. Dang it. I should have walked over and looked at your name tag. So sorry to have missed meeting you.
I love it! I am so glad you caught this on video. I showed up halfway through and didn't have a very good view from the back of the crowd.
ReplyDeleteGreat video!
ReplyDeleteI just have to ask; if there was a video of your competition in the hole boring, what music would you select for it that would define the moment?
Shannon, their competition drew quite a large crowd, for sure.
ReplyDeleteBill, maybe the Benny Hill theme song? ha ha!
Now, THAT was impressive! I must have been in one of the sessions when that happened... Glad I was able to see it!
ReplyDeleteWish I could have gone! Maybe next year...

ReplyDeleteLooks like they managed to get me in the Big Rip-off video over at the WW mag blog though.
