Shop Tour

Photos of my shop, which is located right off the bedroom, in the morning light. A woodworker's shop is never really complete. I have a number of workstations I'd like to build, an assembly table that needs a top, a sink base that needs doors. By the time I finish everything that I'd like to build for my shop, I'll be too old to do woodworking. Then, we'll probably sell the house to someone who'll turn it into in-laws' quarters...

Right off the bedroom? I hope you aren't prone to mid-night woodworking antic are you?

Very nice...wow...you got a lot of "equipment".

The floor is unnaturally clean. You can see the floor shine. Remarkable.

No midnight woodworking, but I can definitely roll right out of bed and get to work. : )

My friends would say that having a clean shop floor is proof that I'm not out there working enough. And they would be right!

This would make a fabulous workout room.

It is lovely. A big screen tv would add something to the mix. And maybe a treadmill. Oh... there is room under the window for an eliptical machine.

How big is your shop?

Dave, it's approx. 17' x 36' with a 10' ceiling.

It seems a little disorganized, but this comes from a guy who has a 16x20 shop that is stacked high with boxes, most of them empty, waiting for time to organize. But I would gladly trade it for one right off my bedroom. Right now, it is such a pain to get to, it's not worth it.

I love your shop, especially all the windows and naturally lighting. What little woodworking I do is in my two-car garage, with no windows at all except some little ones in the garage doors.

I notice you have 3 dust collector? why not have a central one. Great shop loving it!!

Anon, that's a great question. I have two dust collectors and two shop vacs because I didn't want big tubes hanging from the ceiling or walls. That was my effort to keep the shop looking as quaint as possible.

Great Shop!! I love all the windows and natural light. I wish I had all that natural light. I have just one window, on the wrong side of the house.
